Tetra Ireland welcomes on board Ardfert Community First Responders

Tetra Ireland is delighted to welcome the first Community First Responder group to join our network. Ardfert Community First Responders with the support of Kerry County Council's Community Support Fund, were recently able to purchase 4 x TETRA radios for responders to communicate with each other and the scheme duty controller when en-route to callouts. This will allow responders pass information such as updates, location information, including all important local knowledge and any other relevant information necessary with the knowledge the call will go through and without having to stop and use a mobile phone.

Ardfert CFRstook delivery of these temporary terminals from Tetra Ireland at the CFR Ireland Respond conference at the start of this month and they are now an integral part of the on call kitbags. As Ardfert Community first responder group are a completely voluntary group this was made possible by the generosity of Kerry County Council. We hope our radios will enable their members arrive at a scene more promptly enabling a faster on scene response with potentially life-saving consequences.
